A Letter from Chuck
If you’re here, I imagine there’s something in your life you’re trying to climb toward. Or maybe you're seeking a better understanding of who you are and who you want to become.
Whatever brought you here, I’m glad you came.
My path has taken me from Wall Street to Columbia classrooms, from the devastation of 9/11 to some of the world’s highest peaks. Those experiences may appear worlds apart, but each taught me what happens when life puts us under pressure, when the climb ahead becomes uncertain, and when we are called to become more than we have been.
I’ve found that the greatest mountains we face are rarely the ones in front of us. They are the ones within.
They are the distance between what we know and what we do. Between how we react and how we choose to respond. Between the life we are living and the one we know is possible.
That is where my work begins.
Whether I’m teaching students at Columbia, speaking to an audience halfway around the world, working with a leader through a defining moment, or climbing alongside someone on a mountain, I’m interested in the same fundamental question:
What becomes possible when we understand ourselves more deeply?
I believe emotional intelligence, courage, perspective, and the ability to pause before we act are the foundation of a thriving life. They can change our careers, our relationships, and the way we experience our lives.
Sometimes that means challenging the way you have always seen something. Sometimes it means having the courage to take the next step when you cannot yet see the summit.
None of us makes these climbs alone. I’ve needed teachers, teammates, friends, family, and guides throughout mine. If something you find here helps you navigate your own defining moment with a little more courage, clarity, or confidence, this work is doing what I believe it is meant to do.
